In Julien Aubert's article "Observations
and Models of Long-Term Evolutionof the Earths Magnetic Field" the author
compares observations and numerical models of the long-term range.
The author backs the claim up by providing evidence from studies that have been
performed over the past couple of decades. The authors importance is to inform
an audience, whoever it may be, about some characteristics of the magnetic
field in order to educate others on the topic. The author’s audience is mainly
the scientific world but also people who are interested in science related
topics. This will help me a little bit in helping others understand the
evolution process.

In Bruce Buffet's article
"Tidal Dissipation and the Strength of the Earth's Internal Magnetic
Field" he asserts the importance of the little details for the
understanding of the geodynamo. The author supports his arguments well with
data including measurements and strength recordings of the geodynamo. The
author is discussing why details, yet to
be known, are so important in order to understand geodynamo. The audience for
the author's writing is going to be the science community. This article will be
used a little bit, just so I can set a base for geodynamic understanding.

Magnetic Field within Earth.
In
Bullards article, "The Magnetic Field within Earth" the author
discusses the magnetic effects in the core of the earth. The author establishes
arguments throughout the article and goes on to prove them with evidence
provided through research and by explaining how certain things have negative
magnetic effects. The author's purpose is to explain what is occurring within
the earth's magnetic core in order for systems to be put into place in efforts
to fix the problem. Any general audience will be able to understand this
article when reading it. This article will help me lay out the general
properties of our field.

In Ulrich Christensen's article
"Geodynamo Models: Tools for Understanding Properties of Earths Magnetic
Field" the author asserts the importance of using models of the dynamo
process to understand properties of the geomagnetic field. The author gives
multiple examples of why these models should be used to understand certain
properties of the field as well as to prove concepts of convection. The
author's purpose is to explain how some models of an aspect can help prove
something else of similarity. Christensen's audience is intended for those who
wish to learn more about the magnetic field. Will be used to help me form ideas
of how one thing can support another.

Reversal's of the Earth's Magnetic Field
In
Adam Hilgers article, Reversal's of Earth's Magnetic Field, he implies that our
magnetic field is the reason that humans are able to survive on planet Earth.
He discusses numerous reason why our magnetic field is so important and backs
his statements up with factual evidence proving to the reader that indeed, our
magnetic field is a necessity to our survival. Adam's purpose is to explain our
magnetic field in order to get people to understand the severe importance of
its existence. Hilger's audience would be the scientific world or anyone who is
interested in knowing why the human race can survive on planet Earth. I will

Hulot backs up the claim by providing mass amounts of evidence and reports of
how magnetic field charts are important for navigation and the recent abilities
to further observe the field from space. The author's purpose is to inform
people about some of the general properties and facts scientists know about the
field. The intended audience for this article is the general public as it is an
easier article to read. This article will also help me give basic details about
the magnetic field.

Measuring the Earth's Magnetic Field from
Space
In Olsen's article "Measuring
the Earth's Magnetic Field from Space" the author informs the public about
LEO observations of the magnetic field. He provides many facts and lots of
evidence to back up his claims about missions and future missions to space in
order to view the field. The author's purpose is to let the public know about
space viewings of the magnetic field in order to further knowledge the people
who are unaware. The audience is again going to be the scientific world and
others interested. This will help me explore the ideas of hiw the field can be
measured and observed.

An Overview of the
Earths Magnetic Field
In the article "An Overview of the
Earth's Magnetic Field" the author explains some of the main properties of
the magnetic field and why they are important to human survival. The author's
give situations of why the field is needed as well as giving situations if
there was no field. The goal is to inform people on general but very important
information in order to raise an awareness of the importance of the earth's
magnetic field. The intended audience for this article would be anybody
interested in further educating themselves. This will help me prove why our
field is important to our survival.
